Announcement for 2020 Pro-Am

This weekend would normally have seen the competition of the 2020 Masters Golf Tournament. This is usually an exciting marker for all of us at the Pro-Am, as it signifies that the Minnesota golf season is underway and the Pro-Am will soon be on the horizon.

We are living through unprecedented times, as our country and the world battles the Coronavirus threat. This year's golf season will be unlike any we have ever faced. Like many other businesses, golf courses and golf clubs are closed and under tremendous economic pressure.

In light of these pressures and with so much unclear about when things will return to normal, it became clear to us that a June golf tournament would not be possible. We have made the difficult decision to postpone the Tapemark event.

This decision to postpone our June event was made more difficult for us because we exist for one simple reason, to raise critical funds for people living with developmental disabilities and their families. Even in good times, many people living with disabilities struggle with isolation and loneliness. Those struggles are heightened in this current pandemic. As a New York Times article noted, group homes have been hit particularly hard by the virus, with both residents and their caretakers falling ill.

We recognize that you are facing your own pressures in your lives. If you are able to offer financial assistance to support some of our most vulnerable citizens, please follow the below links to give to our benefiting charities. Any amount, large or small, will be gratefully received.

We hope and pray that we'll soon see the other side of this current crisis, and when that happens, we'll gratefully gather for the Tapemark Minnesota PGA Charity Pro-Am. We'll celebrate the opportunity to hold the tournament, and to continue our 49+ years of supporting people with disabilities. Perhaps that will be this fall. Whenever it happens, we will happily look forward to seeing you, and announcing you as you tee off in Minnesota's greatest golf event!
